Zoe is 7 weeks od today.  it's hard to belive sometimes,  it has all gone so fast and yet the early days of ECMO feel like a lifetime ago.  Today was a relatively uneventful day for Zoe and I.  we worked on breastfeeding all day.  She started off really great on our 11:00 feeding with some really good sucking and swallowing but then tired out and fell asleep face planted on my chest.  This is pretty much what she did for the rest of the feedings too.  The nurses are just excited that she finds it an enjoyable experience and doesn't have total oral aversion as a lot of CDH babies do.  They aren't in too much of a rush to force her to feed, they want her tyo like being at the breast, which so far she does.  She is up to getting 35 ml via her feeding tube every three hours and so far it's all stayed down.  My Mom (Nana) got down here at 3:00 and was the first person other than Jason to hold Zoe.  She (both of them) loved it, Zoe just stared at her until she fell asleep all curled up.  Mom is down here through tomorrow so we'll get to spend lots more time hanging out with Zoe tomorrow and attempting more breastfeeding.
